my calla lily

my calla lily
meek and unassuming yet you
kindle intricate fires in men
from the noblest of flickers to
lustful flames hell hath not seen
my calla lily
tell me, are you reaching out
to heaven to importune grace?
or are you seeking the feel of
my hands desirous at once?
my calla lily
not the purest of God's whites
but the sincerest to mine eyes
your pale pale skin is a prayer
even death pauses to listen
my calla lily
you smolder in my bitter snow
and love shows its face to me
but
my calla lily
alas, no devotion, no affection
can enamor the heart of time
it favors none, not a flower, not
a man. Oh my lover my friend!
and so this i avow, if you choose
to wilt and wither before i
come to pass, i shall
exhale butterflies
forevermore
my calla lily
my calla lily

Classically beautiful.
Wow, Cris, how nice of you to have the time to put together all these beautiful things in a new site! I love your poems, as always, your photoshop magic and the music here (from you tube). Everything here provides me with a great viewing and listening experience! This site is a glimpse of Eden! Thanks for letting me know of this site!
Hey Cris! I hadn't seen that you were over here! Added you to my follow, and I'll get you on my blog roll a little later (about to get some sleep). Great to see you again, love the poem and I'll get caught up on the rest of them when I wake up. :)
@Richard
Many thanks. I appreciate it. :D
@France
Thanks for obliging to my lead on. The madding crowd is just too much for my so-called poetry. Haha Anyway, I hope to see more of you here. Thanks again my friend :D
